Note: The 5000 A switchgear rating requires confirmation of the applicable primary equipment and busbar configuration before order approval.
Cabinet Layout
Circuit Breaker Section: Houses the withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker handcart, static contact assembly, secondary plug and breaker operating mechanism.
Busbar Section: Contains the main busbar, branch busbars, busbar bushings and insulating components.
Cable Section: Provides space for cable connections and primary components installed according to the selected electrical configuration.
Relay & Instrument Section: Houses protection, control, indication and secondary circuit equipment separately from the primary circuit sections.
Circuit Breaker & Five-Prevention
Withdrawable Vacuum Circuit Breaker
The switchgear uses a withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker handcart for primary circuit switching and isolation. The handcart can be withdrawn from the primary circuit for servicing or replacement.
VS1 and VD4 Options
VS1 and VD4 series vacuum circuit breakers can be specified according to the required electrical rating and final switchgear configuration.
Five-Prevention Interlocking
The five-prevention interlocking system is designed to prevent incorrect circuit breaker operation, movement of the breaker handcart under load, closing the grounding switch while the circuit is energized, closing the circuit breaker with the grounding switch closed, and incorrect access to an energized compartment.
Breaker Connection
The breaker handcart is connected to the primary circuit through the static contact assembly, while the secondary plug provides the connection for the breaker-related secondary circuits.
Protection & Auxiliary Components
Current Transformer: Provides current measurement and protection inputs for the protection system.
Grounding Switch: Provides grounding of the designated circuit during maintenance operations.
Lightning Arrester: Provides surge protection where specified by the electrical configuration.
Protection & Control Equipment: Provides the protection, control and indication functions required by the secondary circuit.
Heater: Can be added to the relay or cable compartment where specified for moisture and condensation control.
Pressure-Release Device: Provides a designated pressure-release path within the cabinet.
Grounding Main Busbar: Provides the main grounding connection within the cabinet.
Applications
Incoming Power Distribution
The switchgear can be used as an incoming medium voltage panel for receiving electrical power and transferring it to the internal busbar system.
Outgoing Feeder Protection
Outgoing feeder panels can distribute medium voltage power to downstream loads while integrating the required circuit breaker, current transformer and protection equipment.
Transformer Feeder
A switchgear section can be configured as a transformer feeder with the required switching, protection and measurement components.
Bus Section and Coupling
The cabinet arrangement can be used for bus section or coupling functions where the project single-line diagram requires sectionalized medium voltage distribution.

Configuration & Ordering Information
Technical confirmation requires project-specific electrical, mechanical and installation information rather than only the requested voltage and current ratings.
Please provide:
Main wiring scheme, single-line diagram, range diagram and switchgear arrangement plan.
Secondary circuit wiring diagram and terminal arrangement diagram.
Type, specification and quantity of the required electrical components.
Main and branch busbar specifications and materials.
Required accessories and spare parts.
Special electrical, mechanical, environmental or installation requirements.
The final configuration is confirmed based on the approved electrical scheme, component requirements, busbar specification and site conditions.
FAQ
Q: What is the typical lead time for medium voltage switchgear?
